Content and Teaching Methods Regarding Climate Change: South African Curricula Perspective
Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to explore teaching methods showing the impact of climate change on the environment and human health. This study used a qualitative research design to explore potential climate change teaching strategies because climate change not only negatively impacts the environment, but also negatively impacts human health. The chapter will examine instructional strategies for teaching learners in Grades 10 to 12 about climate change using appropriate examples from the document analysis. To find the best climate change teaching strategies to implement in the classroom, documents will be purposefully sampled. Climate change teaching strategies will be helpful to both teachers and learners. Climate change practitioners, textbook authors, and educational policymakers will all benefit from these instructional strategies which can be applied in any school setting anywhere in the world.
